Newport Beach, California Dentist Dr. Ron Jurgensen Celebrates 30 Years of Humanitarian Service in Third-World Countries – Offering Hope Where there is None
Every year for the past 30 years, Dr. Jurgensen has spent his vacations relieving the unimaginable suffering of impoverished people who have no access to dental care or hygiene.
Newport Beach, Calif., October 11, 2017 – Dr. Ron Jurgensen, a Columbia University trained dentist in Newport Beach, California travels to third-world countries at his own expense to treat people who live in conditions of extreme poverty. In July, he made his seventh trip to Kenya to work with Tumaini International, an organization with whom he has partnered for many years.
“Ron has been a critical part of our team and our efforts to mitigate poverty in Kenya,” says Stanley Mutunga, president and founder of Tumaini International. “He is by far the most requested medical professional by the people and they are always delighted when he returns to be among them.”
“I have extracted countless teeth, delivered 26 babies, and performed a variety of surgical procedures for the poorest of the poor, in over 20 countries on four continents,” states Dr. Jurgenson. “It so gratifying to do work like this. This is grassroots, just people helping people in its purest form.”
“Dr. Jurgensen has been part of our team for the past 20 years,” remarked David Lall of Mid Indian Christian Mission. “The destitute in India need hope, he gives them hope where there is none. Through his work he has provided far more than just dental and medical aid.”
Dr. Jurgensen hopes that he can inspire average people across the globe to become engaged in service to humanity. “I hope my work inspires others to look at their gifts and see how they can do one thing for one person and watch the ripple effect. Anyone can make a difference, regardless of their background, knowledge or country of origin,” Dr. Jurgensen added.
